The original Batman series' Batmobile is one of the world's most recognizable vehicles. Celebrate the life of its creator, George Barris, in American Cinematheque's double-bill tribute to the Hollywood custom car maestro at Egyptian Theatre. First up, the 1966 film Batman was the feature-length offspring of the iconic original series, and features plenty of tongue-in-cheek antics with Batman (Adam West) and Robin (Burt Ward) as they battle the Joker and race about Gotham in the titular superhero's sleek, sexy car. Then, Munster, Go Home! offers up another film adaptation of a classic TV show, as the charming clan of ghouls known as the Munsters set sail for England to cash in an inheritance. The Barris-designed "Munster Koach" in this beloved retro-relic is a must-see big-screen event in itself.
