The critically acclaimed drama Punk Rock follows a group of affluent and angst-ridden British adolescents -- high-school seniors who're preparing to experience life for the first time outside the protective walls of their secondary school. The arrival of a new student brings romantic tension into the mix, as the teens struggle to deal with mental illness, their uncertain futures and a shocking act of violence. Award-winning British playwright -- and former teacher -- Simon Stephens penned the play, which he calls "The History Boys on crack." A.C.T.'s Young Conservatory actors present Punk Rock at the Rueff at the Strand Theater.
This production includes mature themes and language. It is suggested for ages 14 and up.
