Q:

I live in the Southwest - Albuquerque - where there is lots of sun and unfortunately, very little water. Do you carry plants that could survive here? Thanks. Mim

Miriam B.  asked on  Mar 21, 2013

A:

We do! If you're interested in wildflower seeds, you can go here: http://www.americanmeadows.com/wildflower-seeds/southwest Any of these will work well in your area. For any of our bulbs or plants, you can use our zone filters (on the left navigation) to select plants suited for your zone (7), as well as the 'Dry Soil' filter. If none of that works for you, you can order from our sister company, www.highcountrygardens.com. Your Groupon is not eligible to use on that site.

Q:

I like the pacific northwest mix of wildflowers very much. I live in San Francisco bay area , do these flowers hold up ok in this area? Also when is the appropriate time to plant these seeds?

Prasanti P.  asked on  Mar 21, 2013

A:

They'd do great there. The key is to make sure that you don't have any chance of a frost. Being in your climate, that may not be an issue. You just don't want the germinating seeds to get nipped by frost. With that mix, you'll have blooms 6-8 weeks after planting and lots of perennials for future years.
