Accompanied by trained instructors and guides, groups begin their manatee tour, which lasts three to four hours from check-in to check-out, with a boat ride on the Crystal River, where the captain seeks out the best manatee-spotting locales. Patrons can choose to stay on the boat or strap on a snorkel and mingle with the manatees, led by in-water guides all the while. The dive master takes video during the adventure to make a DVD available for purchase after the event. Tours run every day starting at 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., must call to reserve seating.
