Led by National Association of Child Photographers member Amy Tripple, photography and editing classes teach camera-bearing parents how to create beautiful, dynamic shots of their beloved young’uns. Photoshop Elements: The ABCs covers the basics of digital photo editing, walking participants through image organization, menu navigation, and how to deal with the existential quandaries of sentient computers. Lessons also cover essential Photoshop techniques such as cropping and using the effects brush. All classes come with a workbook to help lead pupils through the lessons, complete with illustrations for visual learners and scratch-and-sniff stickers for olfactory learners. Sweet Shots Level 1 classes demystify digital SLR cameras in fun, easy-to-follow sessions. Amy starts at the beginning, enthusiastically explaining screen navigation, using the dial, and how to harness aperture and shutter speed. A primer in candid shot taking helps eschew the stiffness that comes with enforced poses or only photographing puppets that have yet to become real boys. Each session includes breakfast and coffee, and sends participants home with an illustrated workbook and digital posing guide.
