Owner Piaman and his mother, Fatima, ply patrons at Anaar Bar and Grill with various Afghan favorites. Fresh herbs pepper sautéed spinach and braised lamb in the quorma sabzi dish, and a spiced curry sauce flavors the chicken carahi cooks. Seasoned yogurt and dry mint flavor many of the eatery’s appetizers, including aash—a noodle soup brimming with ground beef.
