R&B singers Avant and Raheem DeVaughn slide into the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center to deliver a special Valentine's Day serenade. Cleveland-born crooner Avant went platinum on the strength of his songwriting and his smooth-as-silk voice, which he weaves through hits like "Separated," "My First Love" and "Read Your Mind." His fellow Heart 'n' Soul headliner DeVaughn will be on-hand to belt out sultry neo-soul singles like the Grammy-nominated "Woman" and "Customer." You'll also see "So Alone" singers Men at Large, as well as Pasadena's own chart-topping harmonizers Troop, who'll chime in with their late-'80s hits "All I Do Is Think of You" and "Spread My Wings." Proceeds from this romantic evening benefit GEMs, a program that helps low-income students of color from South Los Angeles, Compton, Watts and Inglewood to attend elite private high schools.
This event is recommended for audience members ages 18 and older.
