At Chiropractor Back Care of NYC, Dr. Andrew Black, a licensed doctor of chiropractic, adjusts spines and manipulates soft tissue to ease pain, stiffness, and other sources of discomfort. He funnels more than 25 years of chiropractic experience into each appointment as he educates patients about posture, body motion, and ergonomics—the same characteristics that earned him appearances as an expert on Fox 5 News. In addition to aligning spines with traditional chiropractic methods and massaging sore backs using myofascial-release techniques, Dr. Black performs cold laser therapy, spinal-decompression and traction, and manipulation under anesthesia—MUA—to address the chronic pain that stems from conditions such as sciatica, fibromyalgia, and herniated discs. During MUA, an anesthesiologist administers a gentle sedation before Dr. Black works to break up scar tissue and fibrous adhesions with postural maneuvers, passive stretches, and by asking nicely.
