What You'll Get
Bored animals can easily get anxious, resulting in rebellious behavior such as furniture gnawing and forming a punk-rock cover band. Quash canine caterwauling with today’s Groupon to Animal Lodge. Choose between the following options:
- For $5, you get $10 worth of gourmet dog treats at the dog bakery.
- For $47, you get seven one-hour group dog-obedience-training classes (a $95 value).<p>
Animal Lodge employs disciplinary canine trainers to teach dogs obedience essentials and gourmet bakers to conjure up delectable doggie treats. House-made dog treats come in a variety of gourmet flavors, including peanut-butter cookies and apple-oatmeal cookies covered in yogurt icing ($1–$2). Michelle Knevelbaard, a member of the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors, leads the lodge’s group obedience classes. During seven one-hour classes, dogs learn 25 commands and behaviors. Michelle teaches fidgety canines to sit, drop, stay, and “hold the steering wheel while I change my shoes.” The classes also seek to curb bad habits, including jumping, chewing, and poker playing. Classes take place on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. as well as weekday evenings.

About Animal Lodge
Run by pet-loving couple Andy and Michelle, Animal Lodge pampers dogs and cats with luxurious grooming, daycare, and boarding services. Within the picket-fence perimeter of dog daycare, pooches play with fellow canines, rather than their cruelly coquettish tails, as they gnaw on toys and amble across slides and playground equipment. Boarding services let vacationing pet parents rest easy while their furry friends relax in personal sleeping areas and get 10 hours of daily playtime under the supervision of Animal Lodge's attendants.
In the grooming salon, dirty pets indulge in head-to-toe primping, which includes all-natural shampoos and conditioners, coat and tooth brushing, nail trimming, and other services that leave pets extra clean before visits from animal-wary relatives or home invasions by rampaging dog-show judges. Shelves of baked treats and pet supplies provide pups with plush toys and pigs' ears on the way out the door.
