What You'll Get
In its constant attempt to stay fit, humanity has given in to such unfortunate workout trends as livestock lifting, Spazzercise, and mixed-martial charades. Embrace body and mind fitness that has withstood the test of time with today's Groupon: for $29, you get one month of unlimited yoga classes (a $150 value) at Anuttara Yoga Shala in Deerfield Beach.
A cadre of expert instructors, along with a bundle of heated and nonheated classes, await yogis of all abilities inside Anuttara Yoga’s soothing, inviting school. Each class calls upon a combination of meditation, philosophy, breath work, and active and resting poses to refresh world-battered bodies and energize lethargic limbs, successfully preparing them for exhaustive rounds of golf clapping. Take a relaxed approach to Hatha yoga with the Gentle Flow-Restorative and Healing class, or build flexibility and mold muscles during a dynamic Anuttara Vinyasa-Supreme Flow class. Beginning benders can test their appendages in the Beginner-Gentle class, while seasoned stretchers can sweat serenely in the Advanced-Intermediate session.
Eager to introduce its treasured yoga philosophy to all, Anuttara Yoga extends its omnipresent flexibility to its schedule, offering more than 30 classes a week, from dawn until monster-mashing dusk. About Anuttara Yoga
Inspired by the design of an Indian temple—replete with vibrant fabrics dangling from the ceiling—Anuttara Yoga had no trouble catching the attention of New Times Broward-Palm Beach, which hailed it as the Best Yoga Studio of 2012. The studio encompasses nearly 8,000 square feet, including two 1,600-square-foot yoga rooms that accommodate a variety of heated and un-heated class types.
The recently remodeled Kula Room, with its spacious floor plan, minimal decor, and infrared heat lamps, stays at a balmy 85 degrees during nonheated classes such as yoga barre. The dimly lit Grand Tapas Hall, however, facilitates deeper stretching with a thermostat set to a sweat-inducing 95 degrees. This higher temperature loosens muscles, expels toxins, and thaws ancestors preserved in ice during 90-minute hot-yoga classes.
When they aren’t teaching yoga classes, the studio’s 25 certified instructors pass on their knowledge to apprentices in training rooms and a well-stocked library. Other amenities include spa-like bathrooms with showers and a boutique area lined with yoga accessories and apparel.
