The meats sizzle and the knives soar at Aoyama Japanese Steakhouse. And while the spectacle of hibachi-style grilling is a sure eye-catcher, Aoyama's menu offers plenty of gems that may not be as airborne as the tender chunks of beef and scallops being juggled like a successful clown's social commitments. For one thing, the sushi bar has earned praise from regular diners for the specialty rolls, like the new wave maki that features three kinds of fish—tuna, yellowfin, and salmon—and just as many sauces. Elsewhere on the menu you'll find Chinese specialties, bento boxes, and of course the hibachi grill, which sees filet mignon, lobster, and chicken grilled and dished out in a marriage of taste and presentation.
