What You'll Get
Without the ocean, humans would never know the joys of eating seafood, watching whales, or using a yacht for something other than used-clothing storage. Show the ocean gratitude with today’s Groupon: for $39, you get a three-course prix fixe Japanese dinner with wine for two at Aqua House in Broad Channel (a $104.90 value). The dinner include:
- One appetizer (up to a $19 value)
- Two chef’s specialties (up to a $28.95 value each)
- One dessert (up to an $8 value)
- Two glasses of wine (a $10 value each)
The kitchen at Aqua House sources fresh seafood from the very ocean on which it sits, and combines equally fresh ingredients to concoct the Japanese delicacies that populate its bountiful menu. Before the appetizer course, sidle up to an oversized window and survey a waterway that leads to the Atlantic Ocean, or simply bask on the outdoor patio as sea breezes laden with sweet-smelling aromas and the gossip of teenaged jellyfish blow in. To start, the Coconut Tree appetizer envelopes smoked salmon, scallops, and jalapeño sauce, in a coconut shell. Chef’s specialties make eccentric accents to traditional seafood, chicken, and beef staples; the filet mignon comes steamed in sake, and the Hokkaido chicken bathes in bamboo sauce. Toothsome desserts include the green-tea crêpes with custard or banana tempura. Two glasses of house wine satisfy oenophiles, precluding the need for them to put grapes in their sneakers to stomp out their own wine.
