What can one expect from the 1-hour try scuba course? Do you get in the water, and for how long? Or is it more of an introduction to scuba?

A:

The Try Scuba experience begins with approximately 10 minutes of orientation and then putting on gear and leaning some basic skills underwater. The session is around 60 minutes.

There is a free online textbook to read, but SSI requires the home study kit purchase to be certified by them. The onlkine book camn be found by going to aquatrekscuba.com and logging in to the SSI link.

Q:

Interested in the Open Water Certification for two course. We have snorkel, fins, boots, mask - OK to use our own? What is your availability/timeline for classes?

A:

Yes you may use your own if they are approved as scuba quality. Some snorkeling equipment is not sufficient for the need safe scuba diving. Please note that if you do note purchase your mask, snorkel, fins and boots from us there is an $85 open water gear rental fee for cylinders, air supply system, buoyancy system and instrument system. We require an orientation session to schedule your classes which includes a minimum of 2 classroom, three pool and 6 open eater dives. Classes are full for next two weeks but space will be available after that.
