As the saying goes, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink without promises of cash prizes and all the oversized checks it can eat." Champ at the bit with today's Groupon: for $10, you get two general-admission, one-day tickets to the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show, held February 16–26 at Westworld (up to a $20 value).

In its 57th installment, the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show pits more than 2,500 majestic steeds against one another in assorted showing and performing competitions, held among educational seminars and more than 300 food and product vendors. Choose any day from the jam-packed schedule and marvel at the graceful hoofwork in categories including Arabian classic, dressage, Western sportsmanship, and live-action carousel. Watch Arabian pleasure horses press the first hoof prints at the 8 a.m. opening on February 16, or catch the best of the best four-legged trotters at Championship night on February 25.

In addition to watching the thrilling competitions, show-goers can purchase sustenance from a cornucopia of international food vendors or complete their horse's back-to-school wardrobe from one of more than 300 jewelry, clothing, and art dealers.

Though the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show offers reduced admission on Family Night Friday, February 24, 2012, as well as for children ages 12 and under, this Groupon still offers the best deal available.

Arabian Horse Association of Arizona

In 1955, 50 horses and their handlers gathered on the grounds of the Arizona Biltmore Hotel for the first Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show. Over the next 58 years, the event moved twice—first to Paradise Park, then to WestWorld—and grew to nearly 2,500 participants. Today, the 450 members of the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona, which was incorporated the same year as the horse show, help to oversee the annual flagship event. Many of the members also serve as competition judges, work to foster youth participation in the equestrian arts, and raise awareness about which tiny hats look best on thoroughbreds.

The annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show draws competitors from local Arizona farms and across the country. The showcase gathers thousands of horse enthusiasts for seminars, competitions, galas, international cuisine, and more than 300 vendors. Though the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona holds the show as its main event, it also oversees the Arabian Breeder Finals, a halter and breeding showcase; the annual qualifying America Cup Championship; and yearly endurance rides and stallion auctions.
