Actors of Newport Murder Mystery thrill groups of at least 6 with spellbinding murder mystery in all-inclusive weekend with 3-course dinner
On television, criminal investigators are slick and relentless, which explains why most kids want to grow up to be cops, actors, or a pair of sunglasses. Shine like a snooping star with today’s Groupon: for $349, you get a two-night, all-inclusive murder-mystery weekend stay for one person at Architect's Inn in Newport (up to an $800 value). Couples need to purchase two Groupons, and a minimum of six guests is required for Murder Mystery experiences. For parties smaller than six, Architect's Inn will group you with other guests who seem most likely to commit foul play.
Originally built in 1873 as the stately home of renowned Newport architect George Champlin Mason, Architect's Inn now functions as a cozy bed-and-breakfast, the mansion's Victorian features having been restored and preserved for a particularly evocative experience. On select weekends, however, Architect's Inn becomes the scene of a faux-crime as Newport Murder Mystery takes over the house for a special whodunit event. Before the event, Architects' staff mails attendees their individual character's role based on their personality, interests, comfort level, and ability to raise one eyebrow at a time. The saga unfolds with a tantalizing plot from several murder-mystery story lines that may revolve around Civil War–era slayings or botched crimes. As you piece together the clues—all while playing the customized character you've been assigned—you also have access to delicious dining, courtesy of local food providers, with dessert on Friday evening, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and a three-course dinner with all alcohol included on Saturday night. During breaks in the mock murder and mayhem, guests are free to explore the quaint sights of Newport or enjoy the amenities offered by their room in the inn, including private baths, Gilchrist & Soames bath products, air conditioning, WiFi, fireplaces, high-thread-count linens, and downy feather pillows. Pair a Watson to your Cagney or a Sherlock to your Lacey and delve into a weekend of mysterious murders, spine-tingling twists, and delicious red herring at Architect's Inn.
