One of the all-time great comedies, Molière's School For Wives gets a hip, Mad Men-style remake in this new production from Archway Theatre. Originally written during the reign of Louis XIV, this satire of male chauvinism has been cracking up audiences for hundreds of years. Transporting the tale from the 1660s to the 1960s, this production shows that not all that much has changed when it comes to men and women. Businessman Arnold attempts to mold his "innocent" young ward, Agnes, into a subservient and complacent wife, but Agnes makes other plans when she falls for the free-loving and rebellious Horace. Hilarious complications ensue in this fresh take on a classic.
This show is recommended for mature audiences.
