Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

do I have to do the intro class if I am familiar with cross fit? will I get an extra class then...?

judy s.  asked on  Apr 17, 2013

A:

If you are already an experienced CFitter, you can go through our Basics Challenge, $75, which is scheduled by appointment (60 minutes) where you show us you can safely perform the Basic movements of CrossFit and Kettlebell with proper form and technique. Upon successful completion of the Challenge, we will credit you an extra class on your Groupon and you will then have 1 additional group class on top of the package you purchased. If we find that you will benefit from going through the Review Course, we will reserve your slot in the next available class time.

Q:

from past experience I know that I last about a half hour with personal training, can I use the groupon for 6 one half hour sessions instead of three one hour sessions?

randy s.  asked on  Apr 18, 2013

A:

No worries. We spend quite a bit of time going through the movements and focusing on form and technique prior to your actual workout. You will not be "working out" for the entire hour so it's very doable.

Q:

I am very intimidated by Crossfit and would probably look like a couch potato against a avid cross-fitter Any suggestions for online resources for non-fitness gurus that are looking to break out of the monotony of boring cardio and little weight lifting?

Lynette H.  asked on  Apr 18, 2013

A:

While CrossFit can look very intimidating from the outside, once you get in there and gain a better understanding of it, you will actually find that it is not intimidating at all. The great thing about CrossFit is that everything is completely scalable so you can have 15 people in a class doing the same workout but everyone is doing it to their own skill level and ability. All movements can easily be modified to meet your needs and level. Perhaps a great place for you to start would be with the Personal Training Groupon offer. This way you can meet individually with a trainer, learn more about and see that the exercises and the facility are not as intimidating as you originally thought. Give it a try! You will love it!

What are the options for personal training sessions? Is it limited to Crossfit and Kettlebell, or do you have options for running and cycling specific training?

Helen B.  asked on  Apr 17, 2013

A:

Personal training is just that. It is personal to you and your goals. It's completely customized. We would match you up with a trainer who specializes in your area of interest.
