Q:

My husband has a little rosacea on his cheeks but has some age or sun spots on his forehead and around eyes. He is 61 and looks 40. Not a wrinkle to be found. Would this help smooth out the coloring in his face to give him an even complexion and how many treatments would he need? Do you do only a small area at a time?

Linda A.  asked on  Jun 14, 2012

A:

Thanks for your interest! This treatment focuses on wrinkles, scars, and stretch marks. I suggest calling the office at (602) 298-5476 to determine if this treatment would help with rosacea as well, or to see if they can recommend a different treatment that might be better suited to his needs.

Q:

I am interested in the Fraxel treatments for moderate acne scarring- mostly deep red marks, some ice picks. I am concerned about the reviews mentioning severe breakouts following the treatment...I have been free of cystic acne for years, but still deal with somewhat oily skin and clogged pores leading to the occasional breakout. I'm wondering if I am a good candidate for Fraxel given my unresolved acne issues, and am curious what your experience has been treating patients with the same problem.

A:

Please call the office at (602) 298-5476, as they may need to discuss more details to determine if you are a candidate.

Q:

I know everything depends on the patient...but on average, how many treatments does it take to clear up a mild case of melasma that has already been treated with Hydroquinone cream and shown decent, but not 100%, improvement?

Q:

Hi Maggie (Nellie again) I want to be treated for melasma. The previous treatments I have recieved the doctor performed 5 passes on each section (top to bottom, left to right, left diagnal, right diagnal, and one additional pass in the areas he felt were needed) I have read that too many or too little passes can be made. I felt that 5 passes worked for me. I am wondering, for melasma, will the technicial be perfomring at least 4 passes? Also, is it possible to get too many Fraxel trreatments?

Nellie H.  asked on  Jun 12, 2012

A:

Hi Nellie! The technician will absolutely do at least 4 passes. That is typically the minimum, but we will explain the science behind the number of passes when you come in. It is true that too few passes results in a partial treament and too many can result in super heating of the skin which can make melasma worse. If the fraxel treatments are performed correctly, it shouldn't be a problem to get as many treatments as needed.

Q:

What would be the expiration date should a person choose to purchase the package of four treatments?

Sabrina H.  asked on  Jun 12, 2012

A:

The groupon is set to expire a year from now, but we are happy to work with our clients if you are unable to redeem them in that time frame.

Q:

Is the Fraxel laser skin-resurfacing treatment used for a scar on the face a olive skinned woman?

S K.  asked on  Jun 12, 2012

A:

Absolutely! As long as you are not prone to keloid scarring, fraxel should work for you.

Q:

Is there a groupon for vein therapy?

Sheri M.  asked on  Jun 12, 2012

A:

Hi Sheri, We are not currently offering vein therapy discounts. Insurance typically covers vein therapy and the course of treatment is different for every patient.

Q:

Why is this procedure not even mentioned on your website, nor are there any before & after photos?

Jennifer B.  asked on  Jun 12, 2012

A:

Hi Jennifer, We are currently building a new website that will have the fraxel treatments featured. If you would like to see some of our before and after photos, please feel free to schedule a free consultation.

Q:

I have had 4 Fraxel treatments before to help with my melasma. It worked wonders! But since then I have had the melasma return. I think the price you are offering is quite good. So I have a few questions. 1. Is the treatment performed by the Doctor or is it performed by a technician? How much experience has the Doctor and or the technician had in doing Fraxel treatments? 2. When I had my procedure done they didn't have different types of Fraxel lasers but from what I have read there is now Fraxel Repair and Fraxel Restore. Is that correct and which laser do you use? 3. How many passes do you take across each section of the face?

Nellie H.  asked on  Jun 12, 2012

A:

Hi Nellie, The fraxel is performed by an experienced technician who has more than 5 years of experience. We are using the non-ablative fraxel 1550 (they have recently changed the names of the machines). The amount of passes and depth of the procedure depend on what we are treating the patient for.
