Q:

According to the fine print, groupons cannot be combined. Does this mean I cannot buy three and apply them all to the same class? That you are limited to using a single coupon for a single class?

Lance M.  asked on  Sep 10, 2012

A:

Right. Groupons can be used towards the price of a single, regular registration and they cannot be combined with other promotions, including pair pricing, multiple course discounts, etc. You can purchase as many as you want to use for different classes - or to give as gifts! Please contact us at 666.0759 with any other questions you may have, so we can clarify before you purchased a voucher.

Q:

I'm new to Little Rock and the classes sound interesting but would I feel comfortable attending on my own? How large are the classes and are they attended mostly by couples?

Elizabeth B.  asked on  Sep 8, 2012

A:

Oops, I forgot to answer the other part of your questions Elizabeth, sorry! Our classes vary in size depending on the subject matter...hands on classes are generally smaller, with anywhere from 8-5 people. Lecture type classes are often larger, with around 15-20 people. With some classes, it's "the more, the merrier!!" It's always best to register early though, because many fill quickly.

Elizabeth, this is such a great way to meet new people and get involved in the community! While there are a lot of couples and friends who go together, there are even more people who sign up by themselves. It's a great venue for people in transition: if you are newly single, an empty nester, transplant, whatever - you will fit right in!

Q:

Who are the instructors for these classes? There are so many different topics ... are there a few staff instructors to cover all types of classes?

Elizabeth B.  asked on  Sep 8, 2012

A:

Our instructors come from all over, with every kind of background imaginable! But one thing they all have in common - they are all passionate about their subject - and they love to teach! Our instructors are the best!

Q:

These look like so much fun! Can a group of my friends take one of these classes together?

Carly  asked on  Sep 6, 2012

A:

Yep, you sure can. In fact, it's a regular "girls night out" for many of our "regulars," especially in the cooking and wine tasting classes! As soon as you and your friends purchase your Groupons, contact our office at 666.0759 so we can get you all registered before classes fill up. Registration is just beginning, we can likely acccommodate your group. If you have questions about a particular class, just email us at registration@extendedlearning.org, or call us at 666.0759.

Q:

Seem to have class for every interest or hobby. Do people regularly buy these and give them as Christmas gifts? Thanks..

Randy B.  asked on  Sep 6, 2012

A:

Randy, we always say we have "Something for Everyone" -- and we really do! It's plenty busy at A.E.L.C. during the holiday season, cranking out gift certificates! These Groupons make a super gift - they can be applied towards anything we offer, from Fly Fishing to Wine Tasting or Concealed Carry class. And best of all, they are always the right size and color! FYI, you can purchase a gift certificate from A.E.L.C. at any time, for any amount, just contact us through the website at http://www.extendedlearning.org. You're going to make some folks happy this year!

Q:

I love these classes! I want to surprise my sister with a painting class for us to take together. Can I buy a groupon for her?

 asked on  Sep 6, 2012

A:

You bet you can! So you will want to buy two Groupons - one for you, and one for your sis - and apply each one towards the price of a class. It really is a great way to spend time with the important people in your life! Or, if you go on your own, you meet new people with similar interests - great for people who are new to the area.

Q:

I bought a similar $49 deal from AELC through another deal site a few months ago and was unpleasantly surprised to learn that I could not use it toward the price of a pairs cooking class (because it could not be combined with other promotions, and the "pair" price was considered a promotion). I don't see a similar restriction on this Groupon deal. Can the $49 Groupon be used toward the price of a cooking class for a pair?

Mark R.  asked on  Sep 6, 2012

A:

Good morning Mark, it can be a challenge to word these vouchers so that they are clear to everyone, thank you for the opportunity to answer your question. Groupons can be applied towards a single registration, at the regular price price of a class, and they cannot be combined with other promotions, including pair pricing, multiple course discounts, etc. Please contact us with any other questions you may have, so we can clarify before you purchased a voucher. We love to partner with groups to bring these opportunities to new people in the central Arkansas area, and we work hard to make it a great experience!
