Water-loving warblers court a quacker in the Arkansas State Duck Calling Contest, using nothing but voice boxes and hands to mimic the cries of nature's most fearsome beast. As the clock winds down on the expo's first day, aspiring pit masters flaunt their season-and-sear skills on the grills of the Great Steak Cook-off, dispensing their porterhouse masterpieces to valiant Ultimate Air Dogs and spirited human supporters who promise not to scarf the meat down without chewing it ($5 per steak). On Sunday, nature’s children barter everything from hunting and fishing gear to RVs at the free Sportsman’s Swap Meet. Both days entrance game buffs with the Outdoor Channel Outfitters’ world-record-holding exhibit of trophy animals, and beckon arrow enthusiasts and confident head-topping apples to a 3-D Archery Tournament ($15 to participate).
