At Aroma Indian Restaurant, an arsenal of spices bestows electric flavor into the lamb, chicken, and vegetarian dishes abounding on the extensive menu. Duos and quartets can begin their well-appointed epicurean travels with bhelpuri, rice crisps peppered with onion, tomato, and a wave of tamarind chutney. Soup badami’s almond base draws taste-bud-taming power from black pepper and fresh coriander, and the raita tidbit bolsters dishes’ already abundant flavors, swirling cucumber and roasted cumin into yogurt to create a condiment more memorable than sentient ketchup. Most entrees arrive medium-spicy, but chefs can alter spiciness levels according to customers’ tastes, allowing the garlic, black cardamom, and flurry of other spices to freely march atop lamb rogan josh. Dessert such as gulab jamun, dry milk and cottage-cheese balls doused in honey syrup and rose water, handily wraps up the feast. Bamboo ceilings hover above diners at the Arlington location, where royal blue tablecloths and burgundy carpets provide patrons with all the necessary materials for parachuting through a rainbow.

About Aroma Indian Cuisine

Chefs at Aroma Indian Cuisine know that patience pays off—they let their tandoori lamb marinate in bold spices overnight before cooking it in traditional clay ovens. This is one of the many ways Aroma demonstrates a commitment to serving authentic Indian and Pakistani cuisine at three locations throughout the DC area. The chef's feast for two overflows with samplings of saag paneer, tandoori chicken, and lamb kababs, presenting a welcome spread for couples, friends, or Doppelgangers that just met by a twist of fate. Those who don't eat meat can dig into one of the restaurant's many vegetarian dishes, which include vegan-friendly sauteed okra, and ginger-spiced channa masala.
