Choose Between Two Options

  • $70 for a four-hour Glass Artist for the Day session for one (a $165 value)
  • $135 for a four-hour Glass Artist for the Day session for two (a $330 value)

Students try their hand at three techniques of glassmanship—torch working, fused glass, and stained glass—supplemented by frequent one-on-one sessions with their instructor. Along with learning about the wondrous properties of glass and sharing their design ideas with each other, students head home with a stained-glass sun catcher and either a freshly torched pendant, sculpted flower, or small animal. Students also fashion a 6-inch fused-glass tile or dish, which will be available for pickup or delivery once it has been fired in a kiln. All materials are included. Check the calendar for class times.

Art Glass Center of San Jose

After forming the San Jose Glass Artist Alliance, area artists took their creative passion one step further with the Art Glass Center of San Jose, a refracted haven where they could share their individual expertise with students. Inside the spacious, brightly lit confines, the artists instruct fledgling glassworkers on how to craft distinct pieces in the form of picture frames, coasters, and sun catchers. Following classes, students are encouraged to stay for open lab time, where they can continue working on projects while wearing their old 7th-grade-science lab coats.

Easy to book appointment. Teachers were very thorough and informative. Great use of space and organization. Loved that it was a "make and take", as opposed to just boring lectures. HIGHLY recommend it!!
