Q&A with Svetlana Sky, Program Director, Instructor
What sets your business apart from your competition? This unique program teaches painting techniques, but most importantly, it also show students how to tap into their full creative potential by painting in a meditative state. All of our professional artists reach this meditative state spontaneously as they work and cannot explain what they are doing or how they do it. That skill is far more important than technique alone, because technique will inevitably come with practice. Working creatively—also described as working with inspiration—that is what we teach.
What was the inspiration for starting this business?
My experience lies in art and design, as well as yoga, meditation, psychotherapy, and neuro-linguistic programming. In my search for effectiveness, steady results, and personal development, I discovered painting through meditation. It was a natural progression to use a combination of proven techniques, and this program is the result.
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a customer?
A client who had spent much of her life on anti-anxiety medications was able to stop using them after painting the image that triggered her anxiety. Another client, a professional artist, expanded his pallet from monochromatic to sophisticated color themes after just one session.
What’s your favorite part about your job?
I truly enjoy seeing a person's transformation as I help them accomplish things they never thought possible.
