Artists always want muses without realizing they are a big responsibility, demanding regular walks, a ticket to every sunset, and smoothies made of old pastels and greek yogurt. Cultivate your creativity an easier way with today's Groupon to Art House, with locations in Flower Mound and Southlake. Choose between the following options:
- For $20, you get a one-day, three-hour summer art camp session (a $40 value).
- For $50, you get a two-hour painting party for up to eight people (a $160 value). Additional guests may attend for $20 per person.
At Art House, students of all ages and abilities can enjoy a mélange of mediums during classes and workshops led by professional artists. Throughout the summer, students ages 4–12 can cultivate their creativity by learning new techniques in Art House's summer camp. During the June 27 and August 26 Paint on Canvas sessions (9 a.m.–noon), budding brush wielders will learn proper color mixing and brush techniques. During the Summer Fun T-shirt sessions on June 29 and July 23 (9 a.m.–noon), students will discover and utilize painting, dying, and printing techniques to properly extract content from thought bubbles and transfer them onto colorful body banners. Art House will provide all the necessary supplies for each session, and students will get to take home their original masterpieces. Check out schedules for the Flower Mound and Southlake locations for a full list of available classes.
Art House also hosts private parties to help expression-enthused groups celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and National Blue Jeans Day. Once a party is reserved, each guest will receive a personalized invitation announcing the date and time. During hour one of two, groups will receive painting instructions on how to create original paintings inspired by artists including Van Gogh, Picasso, and Monet. Afterward, hour two can be spent consuming cake, admiring artwork, and discussing the David and Goliath symbolism inherent in each episode of Tom and Jerry. All art supplies are provided, and guests can arrive at the studio 15 minutes early to set up their own refreshments and personal decorations.
Since 2000, Art House has kindled creativity and a love of history by offering museum-quality art classes for budding Picassos aged three through adult. Inside each location, degreed artist-teachers helm classes year-round, guiding students through a structured curriculum in everything from drawing and painting to sculpting. The teachers combine lessons in artistic techniques with a study of art history in order to form a well-rounded educational experience that keeps kids from accidentally painting a self-portrait that looks exactly like Van Gogh’s. Art House also brings art-loving youths together in camps, workshops, and private parties.
