Archaeologists examine ancient pottery to identify a culture’s preferred cooking methods and to determine which of its members was the World’s Greatest Dad. Make timeless memories with today’s Groupon: for $25, you get a BYOB pottery-painting outing for two at Art on Fire in Wilton (up to a $50 total value). The outing includes:

  • Two studio fees (an $8 value each)
  • Two items to paint (up to a $17 value each)</p>

Inside Art on Fire’s spacious, brightly lit studio, ceiling-high shelves display vibrant works of art alongside uncolored figurines that patiently await the soft strokes of a brush. Creativity flows freely as painting pairs roll up their sleeves, call a truce to thumb-war stalemates, and transform blank ceramic canvases into personalized masterpieces. As Yuletide tunes inflate workspaces with seasonal cheer, participants dispense custom hues onto carefully chosen molds, including holiday-themed pieces, such as a gingerbread man ornament ($12) or dreidel ($15). Burgeoning painters may also choose from a smattering of mini Santa, Frosty, or Rudolf statuettes ($12) to complement rogue collections of fruitcake figurines. As an added bonus, Art on Fire encourages of-age adults to bring along their favorite drinks, which provides an extra dose of inspiration that is far less disruptive than bringing along a favorite drill sergeant. For an additional cost, participants may upgrade and paint larger, seasonal pieces, including Santa cookie jars ($25) and various-sized Christmas trees with light kits ($27–$47).

Art on Fire

At Art on Fire, a large selection of unfired pottery awaits. Customers—either there for a party or a walk-in—can browse a variety of pieces, ranging from ornaments to jars and mugs before selecting one to make their own. Then, they'll adorn the piece with myriad colors, adding life with painted hues. In addition to birthday parties and events for children, the studio also offers adult-appropriate events such as ladies' night, with catering available and a BYOB policy.
