Pinkalicious: The Musical (February 16–March 16)
In this musical adaptation of the book by Victoria and Elizabeth Kann, a young girl’s obsession with the color pink bears unexpected consequences. After ignoring her parents’ warnings about eating too many pink cupcakes, Pinkalicious finds herself in a Kafkaesque predicament when she contracts pinkititis, which turns her entirely pink. Despite her initial joy at her situation, she becomes a little too pink even for her own liking and decides to find a way to undo the hue.
The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley (March 23–April 20)
Stanley Lambchop, the longtime star of children’s books and classroom pen-pal projects, regales audiences with a story of his many travels throughout the globe. The adventurous young boy, rendered paper thin by a falling bulletin board, finds himself mailed across the world in search for a cure for his flatness. As he foils robberies at the Louvre and surfs in Hawaii, Stanley comes ever so close to three-dimensionality in this musical tale.
Bedbugs (May 4–25)
To Marie, jumping on her bed is playtime; to the bedbugs, it’s a natural disaster. Fed up with the constant earthquakes, the bedbugs start fighting back, leading Marie to pull out her magnifying glass and find her mysterious assailants. She’s surprised to find the bedbugs and even more surprised when they start talking to her. Although they have their differences, Marie and the bedbugs try to find a peaceful solution to the conflict, teaching youngsters that there are two sides to every story.
