What You'll Get
Creating a masterwork of art can be like wandering through a maze: after a lengthy period of reflection and contemplation, you’ll still probably starve. Appreciate the figurative risks and transcendent joys of artistic creativity with today’s Groupon: for $20, you get a BYOB wine and art workshop (a $40 value) at Artistic Painting Studio.
Directed by experienced painter Jennifer Ferguson, Artistic Painting Studio combines painting classes and libations to stun your sluggish inner artist into full consciousness. Whether you were born clenching a palette or still believe that paint should only be used on faces, the BYOB Wine and Art Workshop will help you squeeze your brain until creative juices start to flow. Each 90-minute session takes students through the stroke-by-stroke process of crafting their own dream canvas, fit to take home and proudly display on their mantle, in their refrigerator, or near a mural of Ulysses S. Grant escaping from a giant clam. While honing your painting techniques, you can munch on any snacks you brought along and sip on spirits to loosen up your artistic inhibitions. The workshop includes all necessary materials (canvas, paint, and brushes), and is limited to 12 students per class to ensure that every paint-slinger receives close attention.

About Artistic Painting Studio
As the owner of Artistic Painting Studio, Jennifer Ferguson teaches others how to spruce up their living spaces with decorative painting. But she doesn't confine her skills to the classroom. Over the course of her artistic career, she's broadcast her brushstrokes as a guest on The Carol Duvall Show on HGTV. At her own studio, the four-time author shares her techniques during classes along with her fellow trained and certified instructors. They elucidate the finer points of stenciling and faux-finishing surfaces such as keepsake boxes, walls, and airport landing strips. To inspire students, Jennifer keeps idea books on hand and emblazons her studio walls and floors with examples of ornate work. She also produces her own line of stencils at The Stenciled Garden.
