The word is spreading on the six-man outfit known as Oriente, armed with a unique signature sound, which combines elements of jazz, blues and funk with Afro-Latin and Caribbean rhythms. Led by Cuban-born singer-guitarist Eddy Balzola, Oriente boasts a powerful, but smooth-sounding horn section, as well as plenty of percussion, complete with congas.
