If you've never had authentic Chicago-style pizza, then what you think is pizza might in fact be a cunningly disguised pretzel. Today's Groupon clears up the confusion: for $10, you get $25 worth of pizza and more at Asaggio Pizza Pasta Plus.
Suitably situated in picturesque Seaport Village, Asaggio serves up a well-rounded menu, featuring its signature Chicago-style deep-dish pies. The Windy City namesake starts at $14.99 and feeds 2–4 diners, with a choice of toppings such as pepperoni, sausage, artichoke hearts, and other vegetable love epicenters. For pizza fans looking to trade a deep dish for a sleeker slice, New York–style pizzas ($13.99+) are also ripe for the picking and offer a thinner crust for comestible customization. Pastas, such as the classic spaghetti ($6.25) or eggplant parmesan ($9.25), are delivered to tables with a side of garlic toast, and calzones ($7.50–$8.50) break the laws of nature, Italy, and mozzarella-based mathematics by flipping pizzas inside out. In addition to preparing tasty Italian-inspired fare, Asaggio is conveniently ocean-adjacent, allowing diners to contemplate the circular, unending, pizza-like qualities of the Pacific sunset.

About Asaggio Pizza Pasta Plus
After Cubs fan Jerry Bishop moved to San Diego, he couldn't find deep-dish pies that met the demands of his Chicago taste buds. So he decided to open his own pizza shop—Asaggio Pizza Pasta Plus. Over the past 30 years, Jerry and his wife Liz have rounded out the menu with New York–style pizza, calzones, and pasta, all made with freshly prepared dough and handcrafted sauces. Staffers also hand stuff the sweet Grandma's-recipe cannoli, which diners can enjoy on the waterfront patio.
