If the mere sight of Cristopher Reed’s biceps doesn’t convince you of his passion and knack for physical fitness, he might convince you with his abundance of certifications—from a bachelor’s degree in exercise science to his professional membership with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Reed has worked in the fitness industry since the age of 14, taking on such diverse roles as corporate personal trainer, boot-camp instructor, and high-school wrestling coach. Today, he owns and operates Ascend Fitness, a large private-training studio.
Stacked with professional-fitness equipment and free weights, the gym hosts personal-training sessions, boot camps, and fitness classes.
