What You'll Get
With today's $25 Groupon, you get $50 worth of contemporary American cuisine and drinks at Ashmont Grill, which won a Best of Boston award in 2009. This neighborhood restaurant is located in Peabody Square in Dorchester. Ashmont Grill is open seven days a week.
After a wild afternoon of pounding cups of sugar and double-fisting cans of chili, Ashmont's dinner menu treats you to healthier fare. Sample Prince Edward Island mussels ($9) or introduce bashful macaroni to confident blue-smoked cheese and sun-dried tomatoes in the comforts of a non-traditional mac-'n'-cheese dish ($15). For the main event, choose from hearty entrees such as smoked spare ribs in an apricot-chipotle glaze, nestled between hush puppies and spicy slaw ($16), and organic salmon with veggies a plenty ($18). And absolutely everything pairs perfectly with Ashmont's signature Train Wreck Fries—which explode with melted jack cheese, bacon, jalapeños, sour cream, and scallions ($9), and have been known to cause rubbernecking problems for patrons, waitstaff, and local-news helicopter pilots.
On a clear summer day, diners can bathe in the sun's glow under the outdoor patio's canopy of greenery and surreptitiously steal Train Wreck Fries from dining companions by pointing skyward toward the afternoon moon. Just as much natural light floods through Ashmont Grill's high-reaching glass into its spacious, brick-lined interior, adorned by a rotating collection of hand-painted art. This bright, relaxed ambience inspires many patrons to graciously tip their hat to friendly servers, graciously tip their bill, and graciously tip off the neighborhood watch to suspicious activity such as frowning, failing to rub one's belly in delight, or loudly ticking. Feel free to do the same with today's Groupon to Ashmont Grill.
This Groupon is not valid for weekend brunch or Monday Night Wine Club.
- The Ashmont Grill is a casual, warm, and uncommonly good restaurant you’ll be wishing were in your neighborhood, too. Exposed brick and high ceilings give it an airy feel, and the menu is full of dishes you crave: simple salads, thin-crusted pizzas, burgers, and wood-grilled meats, all priced well under $20. – Boston
- The breakthrough in Peabody Square's latest act was the 2005 opening of the Ashmont Grill, the stylish eatery opened by Chris Douglass, who made his name in food circles with the South End restaurant, Icarus. From day one, Ashmont Grill was embraced by residents... – Linda Laban, Boston Globe
