Staff was excellent! Building needs a facelift inside and out. Collection was okay, but needs more details about the artifacts listed next to them.

The museum is a bit small, but the exhibits are really interesting and the staff, especially the director of operations, is very knowledgeable about the culture. Hopefully they will be able to expand or add more in the future. I do look forward to visiting again when they have a new featured collection or event.

We loved it! Very interactive and informative museum with a lot of hands on exhibits for our ten year old. We especially enjoyed the water painting Chinese letters, weapons exhibit, and origami. Richard, the director, was very friendly, welcoming, and intelligent about the history and the museum.

About Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures

Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures was founded by a Corpus Christi native, Mrs. Chandler, who spent many years in Asia teaching and collecting cultural art and artifacts. Nowadays, her collection, along with other wonderful Asian antiquities and exhibits, builds a “bridge” connecting Texas to Asia. Visitors can gaze at the crafts and arts coming straight from Japan, China, Thailand, India, and many other countries.
