Good fences make for good neighbors, and bad neighbors make for terrifying, curbside fencing. Take a break from the daily dueling with today’s Groupon: for $25, you get two tickets to the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra's Symphony Designer House Thirsty Thursday event (a $50 value) on April 28th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Every other year, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra commandeers a home and releases a small legion of local interior designers and artists to completely overhaul every room, displaying an eclectic range of designing ideas for ticketholders and bewildered houseguests to behold. This year’s theme, Rediscovering Home, brings the talents of Window Works, Distinctive Kitchens and Baths, Ken Rash's of Arkansas, and many more to the Edgehill neighborhood. This year's house, a beautiful two-story brick behemoth, which contrary to neighborhood rumors, was not the site of Beethoven and Mozart's first postmortem dueling pianos concert.
Take a tour through the residence jotting notes for your tree-fort renovation or idle in the shade outside with a beer or glass of wine provided by Colonial Liquor and Harbor Distributing Company. Palette Catering and Event Planning will offer scrumptious, violin-shaped edibles while the Rockefeller Quartet plays mellow music to attract local wildlife in case the food runs out. Proceeds from the event benefit music and art education for Arkansas children and illiterate saxophones.
