Set against the heart-rending backdrop of the PanAm 103 tragedy, this play shows how the power of women's intuition can turn the emotional wreckage of crisis into a connection deeper than words can describe. Loosely based on a true story, The Women of Lockerbie follows one New Jersey woman's journey as she scours the Scottish countryside looking for any remains of her son, who was lost in the bombing that shocked the world. During the course of her search, she meets and bonds with The Women of Lockerbie, a group determined to fight anyone, even the American government, to get and keep the clothing of the crash's victims. The women are determined to take those clothes, wash them clean and send them back to the victims' families. Following the structure and flow of a Greek tragedy, The Women of Lockerbie guides us to a deeper understanding of what it means to be human.
