Just because they are over-the-hill doesn’t mean you can put anything over Bessie and Louise in Batty Old Biddies. Not when the sharp-n-salty seniors are their neighborhood’s best chance against drug dealers, gang members, and a scheming developer who likes to send thugs to do his dirty work. Things get even livelier when architect-turned-dumpster-diver Harry returns to the ‘hood with a plan of his own, while aging mama’s boy Dan returns to woo Louise after his mother’s death. Meanwhile, local waif Gloria longs to find a new life with her son away from the ghetto. There’s action (and comedy and romance) aplenty in this world premiere play at Athenaeum Theatre Studio One.
