Reduced visibility of cyclists due to poor lighting, lack of proper equipment, and other factors is a major and largely preventable cause of cycling accidents. The Atlanta Bicycle Coalition (ABC) seeks to make riding safer by providing cyclists with safety training and equipment and conducting bicycle advocacy and education in the broader community.
With its Let's Get Visible campaign, ABC focuses on crash avoidance by identifying ways to increase rider visibility to motorists, other cyclists, and pedestrians. ABC equips cyclists with protective helmets, reflective vests, and front and rear lights free of charge, while accepting optional donations from riders who wish to contribute.
Join G-Team and donate $5 or $20 to help the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition equip riders with safety and visibility equipment. If G-Team members raise $225, ABC can outfit 15 cyclists with a helmet, reflective vest, and lights. Each additional $15 will supply gear for an additional cyclist. Donors who give $20 or more and who are not already members will receive an ABC membership, which includes discounts at participating bike shops, one free yoga class each month, and an ABC-logo bike sticker, in addition to other local discounts.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
