Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

Does the groupon include the admission of two parents? Or are children only covered in the groupon? For example, in the option for 4 people-- is that 2 adults and 2 kids, or 4 kids? Or does age matter with the groupon?

Azeem A.  asked on  Dec 18, 2012

A:

The Groupon includes admission for any 2, 4, or 6 individuals. That can be 2 adults and 2 kids or 3 adults and 1 kid etc. (any mix of children and adults). Any child under the age of 1 is free during our regular operating hours and therefore does not count against the Groupon admission number. -Ben

Q:

Please explain your words " Children's museums keep kids out of regular museums, where they could knock over antiquities or see a bathing lady for the first time. Use your outdoor voice indoors with this Groupon." What does "see a bathing lady for the first time" mean?

Yen G.  asked on  Dec 20, 2012

A:

I apologize for any misunderstanding. Groupon always writes the descriptions as slightly "tongue-in-cheek." In this case, they are referencing fine art museums like the Louvre that may not be as appropriate as Austin Children's Museum for young children.

Q:

The website mentions the entrance fee is $4 per person. Why does the groupon say that the retail value for 4 people is $26? Are there other areas of the museum that require a separate entrance fee?

gloria h.  asked on  Dec 19, 2012

A:

Baby Bloomers and Cub Club are $4 a person for non-members. The Groupon is not valid for either Cub Club or Baby Bloomers. Regular admission is $6.50 per person for ages 2 and up. Children under 1 are free and children aged 12-23 months are $4.50. Adults require a ticket.

Ben F. A.  from  Merchant  replied on  Dec 19, 2012

A:

Baby Bloomers is Monday morning from 9am to noon and Cub Club is Saturday morning from 9 to 10am. These programs are exclusively for children ages 3 and under.

The ticket must be used in one transaction. We cannot split the Groupon over multiple visits.
