The sport of rowing is a better avenue to facilitate teamwork and mind-body connection than telekinetically causing peers to dance the worm. In addition to its less-tangible benefits, it also gives its participants a low-impact, full-body workout and indirectly instills a respect for nature. The Austin Rowing Club, or ARC, is a notable local advocate of the sport, hosting educational and recreational programs in partnership with the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department.
One such ARC project is its Juniors rowing program, which gives sixth- through 12th-graders the opportunity to experience the physical, mental, and social benefits of rowing. ARC has paired with the organization America Rows to bring rowing to low-income members of the Austin community. At $125 per semester, however, the Juniors program's tuition remains out of reach for many willing biceps in the Austin area.
Join G-Team and donate $5 to the Austin Rowing Club's scholarship fund. If at least $125 is raised, then a low-income student will be able to participate in the Juniors program for a semester. Each subsequent $125 will sponsor another semester-long scholarship. G-Team is joined by featured Groupon business Flywheel Fitness in supporting the Austin Rowing Club.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click Buy to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
