Q:

I have a pair of suede boots that I wore maybe 3 times that have a split seam in the front of one of the boots. Approximately how much would it cost to have the seam repaired? I am trying to decide if it would be worth it to have them repaired.

Kyle S.  asked on  Jan 27, 2013

A:

I rough estimate would be under $35 but with out seeing them in person I cannot say for sure. Either way, the "$10 for $20 worth of any shoe, boot, or handbag repair" deal would serve you well.

Q:

Can I use the men's boot deal on a pair of women's boots?

karla  asked on  Jan 27, 2013

A:

Yes. With the exception of fashion boots (boots with a stiletto style heel) our men's and women's boot repair prices are the same so you could use it for women's boots.

Q:

Can the shoe hospital stretch shoes, possibly making them a 1/2 size larger? I will appreicate the infomation!

Nicky B.  asked on  Jan 26, 2013

A:

Yes, we can stretch shoes. We do it all the time. However, there is no way to accurately gauge how much a shoe can stretch. Leathers have a wide range of elasticities and the only way to find out how much an item will stretch it to try stretching it. I can say that a 1/2 size larger is probably not possible. Typically, we see leather products about a 1/4 of space gained in a shoe. It does not sound like much but you would be surprised what and extra 1/4 inch can do for the feel of a shoe.
