More Questions and Answers

Q:

What would the 2 lesson option entail for a rider who is already somewhat experienced - knows how to groom and tack and even has had a little jumping experience?

Hyla H.  asked on  Dec 13, 2012

A:

We will take the lesson from your ability onward... Everything on the flat. We have wonderful driving horses and ponies. How would you like to drive? Aka hook the horse to a cart, ride in cart and learn to drive/ steer :)

Q:

Hello! I'd like to purchase the deal for 2, however I'd like to bring my 2 1/2 year old daughter who loves horses. Do you think that this is too young an age? She has ridden ponies before and I wonder if this lesson would be age appropriate. Thanks!

Fatima T.  asked on  Dec 12, 2012

A:

Yes the lesson will be age appropriate! What a fun experience to share!

Q:

I'm not looking for a riding lesson, beyond just reviewing the basics--I would just like to find somewhere that myself, my husband and 8 year old daughter could go on a nice trail ride together. Would the private group option be what I am looking for?

Susan M.  asked on  Dec 13, 2012

A:

The guided walking group trail ride would be what you are looking for.

Q:

Can the option for the two seperate experiences by used same day/same time by two different people or does it have to be the same person?

Adrienne s.  asked on  Dec 12, 2012

A:

It can. We recommend that the same person uses the one groupon and another is purchased for an additional person. The reason being the first lesson is an introduction and by the second lesson the rider is much more comfortable and starts to solidify some skills. And yes you can ride in the same time slot if you would like to.

Q:

Is this for riding english or western?

andrea y.  asked on  Dec 12, 2012

A:

Avalon Stables teaches a variety of seats on the American Saddlebred horse. Our main seat at Avalon is an english type of seat called saddleseat. Often we use our western saddles for trail rides.

Q:

I'm thinking about purchasing 2 one-hour rides for myself. I'm 67 now and about 190 lbs but used to love to ride for a stable in NYC taking out trail rides (walk, trot (post to english saddle) or (sit to western), and lope or gallop. I'd like to find out if I'm still fit enough to enjoy "riding", which I would dearly love, or not. Thank you.

jean l.  asked on  Dec 13, 2012

A:

Come on out and take a lesson! If you feel you can get on and off a horse, then go ahead and buy the 2 one hour horse experience lessons. You will have 2 30minute private lessons with that groupon deal.
