What You'll Get
Like a potato, if the human body is not properly mashed and moisturized, it will never be used for anything more than a science project battery. Make sure your body is properly fluffed and buttered with today's soothing Groupon: for $99, you get a massage retreat package (a $225 value) at Aziz Salon and Day Spa, located downtown on 7th Street.
Aziz is a full-service salon and day spa that's been serving up luxury and relaxation since 1973, the year Billie Jean King famously beat Richard Nixon at tennis and replaced him as president. The massage retreat package provides a full two hours of opulent bodily indulgence. Beginning with lavender aromatherapy, your physiognomy is relaxed from the nostrils on down while hot towels are placed on your back in preparation for the massage itself. Over the course of 90 minutes, the hands of a skilled massage therapist will mix and match techniques drawn from Swedish, deep tissue, and shiatsu massage for full-body puttification (a $95 value). Following the massage, your most frequently abused appendages will get special attention with a 30-minute foot treatment, which includes an exfoliating salt scrub (a $45 value), detoxifying seaweed wrap (a $40 value), and reflexology massage (a $45 value) to keep feet on their toes. Just to keep things symmetrical, the retreat ends with a light scalp massage and aromatherapy treatment, only this time with revivifying scents of peppermint and orange for a pick-me-up reminiscent of Christmas mornings spent shivering outside in a spa robe.
The décor at Aziz consists of warm, sandy hues, and delicate artwork for a vibe like that of a Moroccan getaway (sans Peter Lorre eyeballing you from beneath a dapper fez). When all is said and done, you'll leave the Aziz premises with your muscular fibers singing as harmoniously as a barbershop quartet, instead of screeching like the lead singer in a Norwegian death-metal barbershop quartet.
Though its awards are mostly not related to today's deal, Aziz Salon and Day Spa won Best Hair Salon in 2007 from readers of The Chronicle, as well as numerous Citysearch awards throughout the years. Citysearchers give it a nearly perfect 4.5-star average, and more than 40 Yelpers give it a 3.5-star average:
- Everyone here is so friendly and really knows what they are doing. Your experience begins as soon as you walk in - the receptionists are amazing! – mary de leon, Citysearch

About AZIZ Salon and Day Spa
It wasn’t a coincidence that AZIZ Salon and Day Spa was named after the word for “dear friend” or “loved one.” Since its inception in 1973, Aziz has been treating its clients as treasured friends, personably pampering and beautifying them. Knowledgeable and affable staff members take their time with each client as they cut and color hair, blanket nails in dazzling hues, or affix Xtreme eyelash extensions for Xtreme Prom, which involves jumping dirt bikes over limos. Also a testament to its concern and care for its clients is the salon’s use of renowned product lines such as Kérastase, CosMedix, and ZENT, which harness natural ingredients such organic shea butter to gently soothe skin and hair.
