Pace yourself...there is plenty of food, drinks, and three hours to enjoy the Bacon. We went on Saturday afternoon, crowd moved well throughout the event, parking is nearby, friendly staff and vendors. Just dave a little water for the end, you'll want it after all the bacon.

- The awards: the Golden Rashers, which Baconfest has deemed “the Oscars of the bacon world;” several of this year’s participants are previous winners
- The cause: a portion of proceeds will benefit the Chicago Food Depository
