What You'll Get
Coffee makes you more alert, which is why most emergency sprinkler systems now spray piping-hot cappuccino. Stop, drop, and smell the coffee with today’s Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of coffee, deli fare, and merchandise at Bad Ass Coffee Company.
Bad Ass Coffee's bean specialists roast Kona coffee in-store three to four times each day to produce 30 flavors of java. Only beans grown along the mountainsides of Hawaiian volcanoes in the Kona coffee-growing region are allowed to enter the 100 percent Kona brew ($2.75–$4.75/cup) without nametags. Signature lattes blend flavors to create such concoctions as the Hawaiian Sunrise, which splashes bright orange flavor onto a dark-chocolate sky ($3.88–$5.23). Guests can also dive into deli fare including salads, burgers, and sandwiches that arrive on one of eight breads. Shirley's Muffuletta sandwich tucks ham, turkey, and salami beneath provolone cheese and drizzles them with homemade olive dressing ($6.99).
The store's interior evokes island life with a surfboard table, a wood-inlaid coffee bar, and a palm tree hula-dancing seductively in the corner. Chocolate-colored couches invite sippers to rest while they soak in the sunshine-yellow and orange walls. Paying customers receive either the key to the Internet, a WiFi connection, or the key to the city, a bobby pin bent just the right way.
