Baja Bike Race
The shine of the sun, the smell of the asphalt, and the sound of hundreds of bike wheels turning as one. This sensory painting depicts the Baja Bike Race, which covers 73 miles of road in Baja California between Tecate and Ensenada. In addition to sending cyclists through beautiful, hilly countryside, the event encourages competition; there are over $3,000 in prizes, awarded to people who conquer climbs the fastest or reach the finish line first. Of course, there's also room for the casual rider. The course features five hydration stations at which to rest and recharge after the almost 4,000 feet of elevation change over four major hills. The finish line features a fiesta for every rider, a free reward for taking on the trek. Additionally, road racers and casual cyclists alike can mix and mingle the day before the race at a free pre-party with food and wine.
