When envisioning a night at the ballet, you may imagine yourself staring in silent awe at the elegance of stylized movement accompanied by a stirring orchestra -- but how often does picturing a ballet summon the idea that you'll be laughing out loud? Featuring music from the Phoenix Symphony, Ballet Arizona's Coppélia brings a touch of comedy to ballet at Phoenix's Symphony Hall. Coppélia follows lighthearted lovers Swanhilda and Franz whose happiness is disrupted when Franz is seen blowing kisses to an enigmatic beauty sitting motionless reading a book in the window of Dr. Coppelius' workshop. However, it turns out that this mysterious "girl" is actually an incredibly lifelike doll. With misunderstandings, comedic mayhem and actual life-sized dancing dolls, this whimsical love story is sure to delight kids and adults alike.
