Q:

What days of the week do you fly? How far ahead do we needtoschedule a a ride?

Brandon h.  asked on  Dec 6, 2012

A:

We will fly any day that mother nature lets us. The challenge we have in the winter is two fold. Weather, and early meet times. Most folks can't take off work to meet at 2:00 in the afternoon during the week, so we find that most folks schedule on the weekends. And we all know what St. Louis weather is like around here in the winter. Who knows what the next days weather will bring, so just be aware that we do reschedule a lot in the winter. that is why we pushed the initial expiration date on these out into July. Just to make sure everyone got a chance to fly. As far as how far out to schedule, during the winter, a few days out is plenty. If it is around a holiday, or a summer weekend, we would schedule those out a week or two in advance, just to make sure you get the date you want. If we can help in any other way, please feel free to let us know.

Q:

Why can't someone with a knee replacement go on a ride if there is no impairment from the knee replacement?

Martha S.  asked on  Dec 5, 2012

A:

Because replaced knees are usually not as strong as the original. Ballooning is considered an adventure sport. As a result, what we tell folks is that our hardest landings are typically like jumping off of a kitchen table. we just aren't willing to take the risk of having someone on board whose knees are already compromised. In our mind, it just isn't worth the risk.

Q:

Good Morning, I am thinking of purchasing this for my father for Christmas. I do have a few questions. He is 78 (acts like 50) - he has no health issues, but is this balloon something that is easy to get in and out of? Also, is there an area where family members can watch the balloon take off and land? Thank you so much.

Parmelee F.  asked on  Dec 5, 2012

A:

The sides of the basket are about four feet tall. What we tell folks is that it is like climbing a fence to get into the basket. The end does have step holes woven into it to make entry easier. As long as he is in good physical shape, there should be no problems at all. We also always encourage family to come watch. Just meet us at the store when he is scheduled to fly and we will have you follow us to our launch site for that day and you can most certainly watch. No problem at all.

Q:

Is this for sunrise balloon rides only? Does this groupon include evening balloon rides?

Matthew S.  asked on  Dec 3, 2012

A:

Flights can be scheduled for either Sunrise and afternoon flights. Just so you know though, afternoon flights tend to get cancelled more often than morning flights due to weather though. just so you are aware. But you are free to schedule either morning or afternoon.
