Baltimore Hot Yoga & Wellness
After years of teaching Bikram yoga, Debbie Vojik decided to open her own studio in Northeast Baltimore, an area with few hot-yoga options. The original studio opened in 2012 as Bikram Yoga Mid Atlantic, where she soon began teaching Bikram's 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises to people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. The studio began to grow, and Debbie—who was completing her MS in Yoga Therapy—quickly realized that teaching only Bikram yoga was limiting. She needed to rebrand, and that's how Baltimore Hot Yoga & Wellness came to be in 2015.
Instructors at the studio still teach classic 90-minute Bikram classes, as well as express and intermediate alternatives. They also lead unique Night Moves yoga classes, which ramp up excitement with glow sticks and themed music. For guests looking for something truly relaxing, there's the guided meditation of Yoga Nidra, restorative yoga, and deep stretch Yin Yoga (which is offered in their new non-hot yoga room with all props provided). Other new classes that have been recently added to the schedule include Inferno HOT Pilates: a low-intensity workout that uses Pilates principals and high-intensity-interval training to sculpt lean compact muscles and burn loads of calories in a party atmosphere.
