The location is clean, the teacher very knowledgeable, and there are plenty of yoga supplies available. My only concern is that there's a bit of a vibe from some students that only "experienced" yoga students should attend, and that those who have difficulty with the poses may be in conflict with the synchronization of the others, and should maybe go elsewhere. This isn't really the studio's fault, but it is something to be aware of, that brand-new students, or those who may struggle with some of the poses, may not feel entirely welcome.

What You'll Get

Yoga is a much easier way to exercise both mind and body than testing Einstein's theory of relativity by racing a beam of light. Avoid a science-related sprain with today's Groupon: for $25, you get a five-class pass to Barefoot Yoga Studio in St. Peters (a $53.78 value).

At Barefoot Yoga Studio, certified yoga teacher Jennifer Kasper guides limb twisters toward physical and mental enlightenment with a full slate of 75-minute drop-in yoga classes. Each illuminating open-level session caters to greenhorns and gurus alike as newcomers mimic instructed maneuvers, and more experienced yogis work to perfect traditional poses and euphonic wolf howls. In order to help students meet their personal goals, the instructor demonstrates postures in a multitude of variations. Classes emphasize the development of strength, flexibility, and body relaxation in pursuit of peaceful minds and Oscar-worthy inner monologues. The newly built facility boasts a mirror wall that runs the length of the brightly lit room, as well as stained hardwood floors to provide a level landscape that fitness seekers and clumsy shadows can practice on. Barefoot Yoga recommends that students bring their own water bottle, towel, and mat, but the studio does have a water fountain and a limited number of mats available upon request.
