How many treatments does it usually take for the fungus to be removed?

This depends on the severity of the infection and patients may need from one to three treatments (spaced 3 months apart). We treat all toenails on the same foot, regardless of whether they demonstrate outward signs of infection to prevent occurrence of infection or re-infection. Toenails grow slowly - so over a period of 3 months, patients can expect to see improvement in their nails at a rate consistent with that of the new nail growth. We typically schedule your followup treatments for that time frame. We will also provide you with a post treatment program to help reduce the possibility of a recurrence.
