A brewery, like the beach, is a relaxing oasis that allows tired travelers to bask in golden hues, frolic in frothy spumes, and get in splash fights with siblings. Savor sudsy fun with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of award-winning pub food and microbrews at Barley Creek Brewing Company in Tannersville.
Barley Creek Brewing Company, the first microbrewery in the Poconos since the repeal of prohibition, serves up a wide range of frothy drafts, fresh wings, burgers, and seafood. The abounding menu includes the full-rack St. Louis barbecue ribs, which are dusted with signature dry rub and covered in a tangy barbeque sauce ($19.95). Sandwiches such as the Barley Creek cheesesteak, stuffed with grilled shoulder tip, mushrooms, onions, peppers, and melted american cheese ($12.95), compete with three burger varieties ($10.95 each) for stomach space. Traditionally handcrafted beers, cascade forth from the on-site 10-barrel brewhouse like red rum from a haunted elevator. Every month features a new brew, and Barley Creek always keeps at least six micros on tap, such as the bonny British Antler Brown Ale, which won a bronze from the World Beer Championship with its smooth chestnut quintessence and mildly hoppy bite.
In case of a fermented flash flood, Barley Creek's quirky adornments, including 700 personalized mugs and a full-size canoe hanging over the bar, transform into vessels for carrying the crowd to safety on the outdoor patio. Of-age guests can partake in midday libations with free daily 12:30 p.m. tours and beer tastings, and kids can practice swings at Pint Size Park, the eatery's Wiffle-ball stadium.

- Barley Creek was on our list of places to visit when in the Poconos. We were not disapointed. The home brewed beer was execellent, the hostest, waitresses, and bartenders were all very friendly. Overall, it was one of the best places we visted to dine. – Travis, Yahoo
- I recommend the beer sampler before you order a full glass. We enjoyed the micro brews and all had the steak dinner special. ALL of our food was great. – rudiesmom, TripAdvisor
